Bebo campaign: be savvy - don't get scammed
More and more scams than ever are targeting teenagers on their mobile phones and on the Internet, particularly on social networking sites.
The National Consumer Agency's "Be savvy - don't get scammed" campaign about these types of scams was launched in April 2008. It is aimed at teenage consumers in
Ireland, particularly transition year students.
The campaign is designed to:
- Raise awareness of fraud and scams among teenagers
- Allow teenagers to share stories and experiences about certain type of scams
- Provide tips on how to spot scams
- Act as a reference for teachers and parents
As part of the campaign, the NCA has launched a page on Bebo
