Caitríona has taught children and adolescents until Leaving Certificate level. She has worked one to one as well as in larger classroom situations. While working in a private college Caitríona began to believe that education is not only about the academic achievements of a child or adolescent. Later, as a resource teacher working
alongside an educational psychologist she started work with children in a way that addressed the child's individual learning needs. The results were very encouraging.
Caitríona works creatively with her pupils, helping them cope with school life and their problems. Much of her work consists of drawing up individual learning plans for each pupil. Each plan would outline their learning needs and outcomes. Learning needs ranged from academic to emotional, as well as behavioural difficulties.
Caitríona is a registered member of the Teaching Council of Ireland and is currently working as a resource teacher and psychotherapist in Dublin. Caitríona successfully completed her training in psychotherapy obtaining her Professional Diploma in Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy .
