Catherine Tolan is a second generation acupuncturist, following in her fathers footsteps. She qualified as an Acupuncturist from the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland and holds both a Diploma and a Licentiate in the Professional Practice of Chinese Acupuncture and is also a certified practitioner of Cosmetic Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture and Electro Acupuncture.

Catherine offers a one client per appointment policy, ensuring that her clients get the full benefit of her expertise and attention.

Acupuncture is an ancient eastern healing method that originated in China more than 5,000 years ago, and can be applied to anyone to improve and maintain health, and to prevent health problems developing. It is the primary approach to health care for more than 1/3 of the world’s population today and is an extremely safe and effective treatment for many ailments.

Acupuncture works by stimulating the body's qi (energy) and blood with extremely fine pre-sterilized, one use, needles to restore harmony to the body and eliminate the cause of pain and illness.

Available Treatments

Traditional Acupuncture

The insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points along the body's meridians (energy pathways) to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of qi (energy).

Electro Acupuncture

A micro current is combined with the needles used during the course of the treatment session. This type of treatment is particularly useful for the treatment of sport injuries.

Cupping Massage

A heated glass or bamboo cup can be used in combination with a traditional acupuncture treatment or on its own in a similar fashion to a deep tissue massage
