BRIGIN NEWS.
Brigins will be back Sunday 6th September 11.30 in St. Fiachra's Junior School Hall. Subs €2  no uniform to be worn for this meeting.
See you all then.
Any girls going on to guide or just want to see what its all about please go to the guides, same hall as the brigins on Friday the 11th of September at 7 .30p.m. -  9.30 pm.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Reminding all parents and guardians,  Membership fees are due in full on Sunday 1st November.  Cost  €30.00 per child or discount to €27.50 per child  if a brigin has a sister in Cygnets, Brigins, Guides or Rangers.

Brigin meetings 13th No Meeting, 20th and 27th September will take place in Artane, St. Brendan's National Boys School, McAuley Road, Artane at 11.00 - 12.30.  I will be on holidays. Pamela in Artane Brigins will run the meeting with Jenny. As we do not have a trained assistant Leader in our brigin group  we are unable to hold the meetings in Beaumount when I am away.
We will host meetings December for Artane when their Leader Pamela is on her holidays.
 
Directions:  drive up Ardlea Road to Artane Roundabout go straight through roundabout,  continue straight on Brookfield Avenue on straight on Gracefield Road at end of road it veres to the left onto McAuley Road, go through 2 small disc roundabouts, St. Brendan's school is on the left. No parking in School. Collect girls at 12.30.

Brigin Camp 2009
Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June. 
Kings Hospital - Palmerstown,  Cost 72 euro  deposit 20 euro balance due Sunday 24 MAy 2009.  List of kit to bring on camp will be given out shortly.  Meeting for Parents of girls going on camp will be held on Sunday  14 June.


BRIGINS
Each week don’t forget to bring your Brigin Funbooks.   These are books which we will be using to work with our programmes during the year.   There are 3 levels bronze, silver and gold and when each level is completed the girls will receive a badge.   Cost of book is €10.00 and are ordered through the group.    Each girl will need a book as there are some colouring in and games for the girls in the book.  
 
For new members please note that Brigin subs are €2per week, €30 for membership fee, €10 for funbook.   Additional costs for some girls will be new uniform, neckerchief, activities.

Recruits getting enrolled will need the following items of uniform:
  • Navy Combat trousers available from the Outdoor Adventure Centre
  • Brigin Sweatshirt, available from Outdoor Adventure
  • Plain white polo t-shirt (no stripes on the collar). This can be bought anywhere or you can get the official one from Outdoor Adventure.
  • Buion Clothra Brigin Neckerchief - red with white border.  Available from Lorraine or the Outdoor Adventure.
  • Navy Brigin Woggle
  • Brigin Tie-Pin
  • Runners
  • Badges: Dublin, WAGGGS, CIGA
 
Items are not always in stock at the Scout Shop in Outdoor Adventure.  I would strongly recommend you ring the shop to make sure they have what you need before you go into town.

OCTOBER 2009 BRIGINS NEWS

For our new members: Subs are €2 payable weekly.   We meet at 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday Mornings.   Every 3rd Sunday of the month we attend 11.15 a.m. mass (unless we have a planned activity).
 
The annual Membership\Registration Fee for the year 2009/2010  is €30.00 per child payable from now until  1st  November. If there are sisters in either Cygnets, Brigins or Guides then there is a reduction of €27.50 per child.  There is no reduction in the fees for joining during the year.  This fee includes a portion for administration costs and group insurance, unfortunately if your child is not insured we cannot allow her to join the group as we cannot assume such a personal risk.
 
New members are eligible to be enrolled after they attend the Brigin meetings for 3 months.   So there is no rush to run out and buy brigin uniforms. Uniforms can be purchased from The Scout Shop located upstairs in the Outdoor Centre AT 34/35 Upper Liffey Street, Dublin 1.  
NEW COMBAT TROUSERS are now available from the Outdoor Centre for Brigins and now form part of the uniform. 
 
The Brigins are aged 7 - 11 years old and are organised into small groups within the company called patrols in which there is a leader and an assistant (these are girls which have been in the group for a few years).
