Ann has had a love of paints and colour since she was a very young girl. She followed this interest to the Crawford School of Art and Design. She began her career as an Art teacher while continuing her studies to become a textile designer, specialising in hand-made rugs. She worked in this sector for many years in Cork, with RugPlan, the rug-making kit producers, as their chief designer.
Ann now focuses her energy on painting and loves the freedom of ideas and bold use of colour this allows. She works with various media, including watercolours, oils and pastels, but particularly likes acrylics for their bold, vibrant colours. Ann takes her inspiration from nature, and flower studies and landscapes are her main subjects. She regularly exhibits successfully in local and city-wide exhibitions in Dublin and also in her native Cork.
Although Ann moved to Dublin to raise a family, she has remained a proud Cork woman at heart - and as of Saturday May 19th. 2012 she will be returning to her beloved Cork to live and continue her painting career.
