Airport

Dublin AirportDublin airport is situated about ten miles from the city-centre, on the north side of the city. It is located just off the M1 motorway (Dublin-Belfast road) approximately 2 km south of the town of Swords. Dublin Airport has seen phenomenal growth in 2005 with the launch of an additional 31 new routes/services. Dublin Airport has an extensive short and medium-haul route network: several domestic Irish routes, around thirty routes to its nearest neighbour, the United Kingdom, and a vast network of routes to Continental Europe. The airport now has a record 50 scheduled airlines operating to 112 destinations internationally.

New Services

More than 30 new services are planned in the first quarter of 2006, half of which will represent new routes for the Airport. This demand has been driven by a huge increase in business travel to and from the country, together with an increase in inward tourism, and a surge in demand for foreign holidays and city breaks. Dublin Airport is now engaged in a €1.2 billion capital development programme that will see the construction of a new second terminal by 2009 in addition to a variety of new piers and major improvements to the existing terminal.

Car Parking

Dublin Airport offers 24 hour parking, in its 3,600 short-term and 14,400 long-term spaces. All car parks are regularly patrolled by airport police. Aer Lingus and Ryanair are the two main Irish airlines, which fly to and from Dublin airport. Aer Arann operates over 600 flights per week across 35 routes in Ireland, the UK and France.
