Merrion Square Park - Sunday 3rd July - 2pm - 5pm
Make a date with Play Day – Sunday 3rd July in Merrion Square Park
National Play Day was on Sunday 3rd July and we are asking all parents and guardians to help celebrate children’s play on this day. Help your children organise a day of free play, fun and laughter. See what games children are playing now and show them games that you loved as a child. Organise a small event on your street or local green space. Come on out and Play

Dublin City Council’s free annual play day took place in Merrion Square Park on Sunday 3rd July, from 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Our Play Day is a children’s event with a difference – it’s all about ordinary, basic play that children love. No expensive, fancy equipment and no sitting watching other people doing things, this is about active fun and games that everyone can take part in.
This free, family-friendly event was guaranteed to bring out the child in everyone. Activities on the day included parachute games, giant bubbles, a silly obstacle course, dressing up, messy play and much, much more.…There was plenty of mess and mayhem for everyone to get involved in! We guaranteed that all the family had a fun filled, hands on, messy, wear you out day.
Play Day also helped adults organise play events with the emphasis on activities that cost little or no money. The message was: come along, get some tips and then let the kids do it for themselves at home.
