Already, residents at six Dublin City Council sheltered housing complexes have taken part in this exciting *free* IT training project.

Research shows that older people who receive computer training have enhanced self-esteem and mental ability, enjoy more social interaction between generations; more community involvement, more independence, and experience lower levels of loneliness.

Participants learn the basics of word processing, email and Internet using the FIT (Fasttrack to Technology) eCert programme. Training takes place in small groups of four to five.
