FÁS

Trainee

Many FÁS programmes assist and benefit community groups. This section provides information on the main FÁS programmes which involve community groups. FÁS seeks to ensure that its efforts contribute to community development around the country.

Strong links between FÁS and the community at local level have been developed and fostered over many years and at any time over 3,000 community-based projects are underway. Projects are open to all types of community and voluntary organisations who are involved in not-for-profit activities of benefit to society.

The largest programme of interest to community groups is Community Employment  but Community Training is also a programme which can assist communities to develop services and facilities to meet local needs. Groups interested in availing of these programmes should contact their local FÁS office in respect of the particular programme of interest.
