Early Learning
The Early Learning section of our website aims to promote the importance of learning from an early age. An important part of a child’s life is the education and care they need and receive from their parents/guardians, friends and relatives. This zone contains ideas, approaches and information on creating a nurturing environment for your young ones- whether it is in your own home, at a crèche, after school or in the park. Young children can exhaust as much as they excite, can demand as much as they give, but we must not forget our role in opening doors of wonder and mystery in their ever-expanding worlds. While they bravely grope their way around we must always offer our hand to guide them as they explore the world of colours, sounds, smells, stings, burns, rain, snow and sunshine.
Early childhood education generally means education for children before the start of formal schooling. The legislation on school attendance requires children to be at school (or receiving an education) from the age of 6. Almost all 5 year olds and half of 4 year olds attend school attend primary-level school.
