I am his proud Father. I have purposely never showed him how to use a camera or expressed to him that he should or should not hold the camera that way, don't point towards the light, don't waste pictures etc., to put it bluntly he takes pictures because he loves to, so, I have never prejudiced his opinion or directed him in any way.

I was, myself, at one time an avid photographer, Jack's first cousin is a professional photographer and Jack's paternal Grandfather was a semi professional photographer. In fact he comes from a long line of people who have worked with visual art.

I believe that Jack has an inherent gift for photography. True he is being raised in a multi visual world and is bombarded through almost every waking moment with images from the internet, tv, dvd's and games consoles.

I believe that to have 'an eye for a picture' is in this case inherited.

No amount of explaining to Jack at his age would convey the concepts of juxtaposition or composition in visual media. But jack already knows about both - in shed loads.
