R.I.P. ....Richard .......................a true legend
I had a big crush on him when I was a wee girl. Always came across as a real gentleman. I had no idea he was an Irishman. R.I.P
Richard Todd was one of my most Favorite Actors.
I loved him as *Robin Hood.
I must admit for years I thought he was *Scotch* because one f his First Films was *The Hasty Heart*
It was only in later years did I find out he was born in Dublin.
The English always passed him off as one of their Heroes.
I did read on the revue of the *Longest Day* that his advise was sought on the Film Scenes at *Pegasus Bridge ( he was a Captain in the Paras that held the Bridge).
very sad to hear of his passing.
His father played rugby for Ireland just before WWI

His mother sadly committed suicide when he was young. His 2 sons also committed suicide. Don't know how he managed to cope with this tragedy.
