During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalised.

'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, and then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor. 'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup....’

'No.' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

I think the person who caused them to be put into the mental hospital,should be locked up. Some people with low self esteem, would try and empty the tub with the things the doctor gave them. Just to please them.They probably would be to timid to question the doctor. During my Gulag time, my friend was asked to sweep up the stairs. He started sweeping down the stairs and got a severe beating. "Sweep up the stairs, i said" " Not sweep down the stairs" the black garbed screamed.
