Pic of Bluebell Utd 1947. My Da, Liam Beahan, is the player middle front and my Uncle, Charlie Beahan, is wearing long coat and glasses. Their first competitive game was against Bohemians in 1948 which they lost 10- 1 with Bert Curtis scoring what was the first ever goal scored for Bluebell in that game. Bluebell United won their first honors in 1948 by winning The Shield. Can anyone name anyone else in this pic?

Thanks Steevo. That pic was in the Bluebell United 2006 Callender. There are some great pic's from the late 40's through to the mid 50's in it. I had never seen that pic until 2006 and remember the lovely feeling I got seeing my Da (RIP) in it. Just thought someone else might spot their Da, Brother, Granda or Uncle etc and get the same feeling. I can get some more of the pics put on disc and post them up here if anyone is interested.

Hi fitzy - just joined the forum today and going through a few of the threads and great memories coming back. I remember Kenneth well - he lived on Bluebell Road just across from from the flats where I lived. Also think that he had a brother called Joe. They wereonly a few doors up from the Goughs. Lost touch with kenneth in the early 70's. We lived in the third block. Great pals with the Downeys from the third block (Pat and Eugene) and also the McCabes from the first block, particularly Alan who I went to the Obbos with and then on to the Christian Brothers in James's St. Great to hear all the other familiar Bluebell names from when I was growing up.
