    Default Bluebell.

Hope I`m not out of order starting this thread folks. If I am I apologise and feel free to delete it.

We lived in Rialto street in the sixty's and moved to Bluebell flats (Bernard Curtis house) where we lived for many years.I often visit and just enjoy the memories of fishing on the canal, mad Bridgid,Black Peter , Siiding down the snow covered valley on a polished car bonnet in the winter. The friend and enemies we made but overall I loved it there.

Derek Smallhorn, from Ballyfermot, lived on Huband Rd. His inlaws are still there I think.

Poor Dereck,I remember the lad well. I remember working in Hanlons greenhouses for the summer planting seeds.. (mind numbingly boring stuff) and raiding the bin at King crisps and Ritchie's sweets.
Where the cottage is now we knew it as "jellyland" as it was a swamp.
Interesting fact. McDonalds was built on the old Smithfield motors site and it was the first suburban Maccers.
It was a nice place to live.

I'm not sure of the numbers, but I've a few cousins living there, they're all from Bluebell as was my Mother, her sisters are still there.

A very good pal of mine Tommy Mc Cormack lived in Bluebell, sadly passed away some years back. Worked with him in RTV Rentals. Bernard Mc cabe, from Bernard Curtis house, was in my class in the Obbo's
