Hello Tony Byrne and welcome on your first post ! Now I know you have had no replies since you posted this at 6:54 PM,but don't go away or be put off,cos it takes a while to get in here and it's a bit strange trying to break in to chat, but all is not lost !
Although I was born and brought up in Clanbrassil Street,I have no recollection of the Fields',but there is plenty of help at hand.

Census are a great reference and Jeangenie is the man to point you in the right direction on that one.

Also our resident xpert on the Street is / was Auld Decency; an absolute mine of info and has produced a lot on Wiki I am sure,if not him another chap who has written the whole of Portobello on Wiki,(just google it and it will come up with full details and pics inc Clan B St) and a great and accurate account it is too, just cant remember his name off hand, and neither of them post much on here now,but there are others who I know can help, just a matter of time.

In the meantime find the Clanbrassil Street Thread in here and theres lots to see.

I'll keep an eye on this your first hello, and will make it my business to help you when time allows, bit tight at the minute, but will be back to you in due course.
By then I'm sure there will be all sorts of avenues suggested for you to try trace info on the Fields'.
Pity Jimmymac has left Dublin because if anyone could have found out for you he was the man.

Anyway in the meantime put a Hello Everybody Thread up and Introduce yourself and in no time yill be like part of the furniture.

All this, because I know when I made my first post,I sat up all night watching to see if I'd get a reply, and when after about 2 hours it came it was a eureka moment, and now 17000 odd posts later most just ignore me Lol ! Funny ole world eh !Whatever you do do not be put off, keep going right ! right.

You hang on in here Tony, and all will come good..............................
