Cllr Dermot Lacey officially launched Dublin’s Green Guide on Saturday, 24th November in Dublin City Council’s Civic Offices. The Environmental Focus Group of the Dublin Community Forum identified the need for a user-friendly guide, which would provide brief information, useful contact details and references to encourage and help those living in Dublin to take positive and practical actions to protect and conserve their environment in every day life. We hope this publication will both encourage and aid Dublin’s Citizens in doing this. The Guide is the result of the hard work of members of the Environmental Focus Group over the years. For a hard copy of Dublin’s Green Guide, please contact the Dublin Community Forum. |

A subcommittee of the Resident and Tenant Focus Group have put this booklet together as a guide and support for our fellow citizens. The enactment of "The Residential Tenancies Act 2004" brought some new order in the relationship between Landlords, Tenants and Neighbours, and we felt that a simple guide and overview was essential, so here it is. We hope that you will find it both interesting and informative and that it gives some answers to your questions on the respective roles, rights and responsibilities of Landlords, Tenants and Neighbours alike. We would like to thank all those who collected the material, arranged it and presented it so attractively. |

Dublin Sports & Recreation Council
has repeated, for the fifth time, the research exercise we first carried out in the Spring of 2002. This is the first edition of the "Dublin Me Arts" Arts Directory, which is an initiative of the Arts Focus Group, Dublin Community Forum. The directory provides an essential guide to cultural and arts groups in an ever-changing Dublin. The Directory offers a clear and user- friendly set of signposts to a rich and vibrant artistic tapestry in our city. There are ten sections, all of which are colour coded for easy use. Each group / event has been categorized under the section most relevant to its main pursuit. This will enable both citizen and visitor to locate a variety of activities and organisations in the capital. While every effort has been made to include as many groups as possible in this directory, it is hoped that those not listed will appear in the next edition. If your group / organization is not included in this first edition of "Dublin Me Arts", and wish to be included in the next edition, please download and fill in the application form |
Bowling Together in the Capital

The success of the economy and the growth of the city are welcome developments that have helped address issues of poverty, unemployment and social challenge. But in an increasingly complex and busy world, where people have less time and where traditional values have been swept aside but not replaced, the quality of our living in community needs to be addressed. This was the challenge taken up by Dublin City Council's Communities First Initiative. In recent years Lord Mayors have sought to use their year of office to address a key issue in the city through a Lord Mayor’s initiative. Such an initiative needs to leave a legacy in terms of policy and action. |
Accessible Childcare for All Report
|
|
A study into access to Early Years Service for children and parents with additional needs in Dublin North West Area. The primary aim of this action research project is to identify and promote solutions designed to ensure equality of access and opportunity in terms of childcare provision for children with learning, sensory, physical and emotional additional needs and for children whose parents have a disability. Particular emphasis will be given to addressing the range and quality of provision integrating the child with disabilities with other children. This report was commissioned and led by The Dublin Community Forum’s Dublin City Childcare Focus Group; funded by the National Disability Authority under the NDA Research Promotion Scheme 2004 and The Dublin City Childcare Committee; and researched and written by O’Regan Cassidy Research. |
Dublin City Environmental Directory
| In response to this need, the Dublin Community Forum Environmental Focus Group commissioned new research into all the groups active in environmental protection in the Dublin City area. The research has resulted in the publication of the first Dublin City Environmental Directory, which provides details of 369 groups that are engaged in environmental activity in Dublin. The Environmental Focus Group has planted a sufficient number of trees to replace the paper used in producing this publication . It is hoped that the directory will prove to be an invaluable resource if you want to find out who is doing what, link up with partner groups, keep informed about environmental activities and make Dublin a Greener City - one of the fifteen priorities of the DCDB's City of Possibilities 2002-2012 - An Economic, Social and Cultural Strategy. |
