The Resident &Tenant Focus Group
The Resident & Tenant Focus Group, which is still in its infancy, was formed following a public meeting in the Civic Offices in December at which over 70 Resident and Tenant Groups were represented. The group which meets on a monthly basis in the Civic Offices, is actively seeking new members. The main aim of the Resident & Tenant Focus Group is to impact on existing policy and future development in relation to resident and tenant issues. Members of the group have recently attended a Facilitation Day organised by the Dublin Community Forum and agreed a set of key issues and concerns.
- The need to lobby for Landlord/Tenant responsibilities in the private sector to be clarified, implemented and enforced.
- The need to lobby for exemptions on The Planning Fees attributable to Planning Objections and Planning Appeals.
- The need for a simple user-friendly guide to the planning process.
your City - your Plan - your Say
The Resident & Tenant Focus Group has produced a user-friendly booklet to coincide with the launch of the process of preparing the new Dublin City Development Plan. The booklet aims to both introduce and explain to members of the public the various stages in developing the Dublin City Development Plan, and to encourage their participation in this process.

|A subcommittee of the Resident & Tenant Focus Group have put this booklet together as a guide and support for our fellow citizens. The enactment of "The Residential Tenancies Act 2004" brought some new order in the relationship between Landlords, Tenants and Neighbours, and we felt that a simple guide and overview was essential, so here it is. We hope that you will find it both interesting and informative and that it gives some answers to your questions on the respective roles, rights and responsibilities of Landlords, Tenants and Neighbours alike. We would like to thank all those who collected the material, arranged it and presented it so attractively.|
