Conference:One City One People – Integration: The Next Decade?
One City One People – Integration: The Next Decade? A one day conference will took place on Friday 24th September 2011 in Wood Quay Venue. This seminar will focused on the progress and experience of integration policy to date and consider integration policy development for the next decade in relation to the City. UNESCO Young Leaders against Racism and Discrimination:
Two young Dubliners of immigrant origin who have shown leadership potential through their work in raising awareness on issues of racism and discrimination in the city will represent Dublin at UNESCO Youth Conference in Barcelona on 10-13th September 2010. -
Alternative Voices on Integration:
Immigrant Council of Ireland and Irish Refugee Council in association with DCC OFI present an open seminar on Monday 20th September, Wood Quay Dublin 8. Speakers: Liz Fekete - Institute of Race Relations in London and Denise Charlton Immigrant Council of Ireland -
Music:
An Intercultural Gospel Music festival will take place on Saturday September 25th in Convention centre in Dublin in association with Dublin City Council and Metro Eireann. Art Exhibition:
Dublin City Council in association with UNICEF will hold an exhibition called “Suitcase Stories” – an exhibition of the stories of migrants told through artistic suitcases. Dublin City Council Civics Offices from 27th September – 8th October -
Memoirs:
One Day Memoir writing workshop on September 30th in National Library of Ireland. “Lost and Found: Reclaiming a Self through memoir” Immigrant / Emigrant Narratives in Ireland. Lecture by Dr. Jerusha McCormack, National Library of Ireland 19th October.

Fomacs DIT – Crossing Cultures: Fomacs/OFI Dublin City Dialogues:
A new FOMACS/DIT initiative using media stories commissioned and produced by FOMACS to create dialogue on immigration and integration within local areas of the city. Project launch 15th October. -
British Council/Fomacs Learning Lab: Identities and Social Justice.
Yasmin Alibhai Browne will participate in a public conversation with Susan McKay, Director of National Women’s Council, on Friday 24 September from 12:30 -2:00 pm., at the Chester Beatty Library. -
Sanctuary:
FOMACS in association with Storytellers of Ireland and the Irish Refugee Council, will present Sanctuary – a series of ultra-short monologues, all less than one minute long, in which the stories of people who have sought asylum and received refuge in Ireland are recounted on screen and through live performance by actors and writers living here. Culture Night 25th September Venue to be decided. -
Lost and Found in Translation Symposium:
Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival will work with the FOMACS DIT to present a one day symposium investigating the role of Arts in social integration. Dublin City Council Wood Quay Venue Saturday 16th October 2010.

DCC OFI Film Series: Film Workshops:
Three films will be screened and followed by interactive workshops focusing on the films “Invictus” by Clint Eastwood, “The Classroom” by Laurent Cantet and “Pavee Lackeen” by Perry Ogden. Further Information to Follow -
