Office for Integration - Dublin City Council
Dublin has become a vibrant melting pot for many different cultures in recent times. You only have to walk down Grafton Street or Temple Bar to know that Dublin is a multi-cultured city that hosts an exotic selection of music, dance, cuisine and fashion. Dublin strives to create a workplace, learning environment and life opportunities that foster dignity and respect, and that empower individuals to make a meaningful contribution to society. The recent economic boom we have enjoyed has drawn people from the world’s Four Corners. The economic and cultural activities have benefited from the wealth in diversity of traditions, knowledge and cultures from abroad.
Dublin now has numerous Asian and African markets, European and International restaurants and delis that tantalise our taste buds. Dublin’s Irish Film Centre and Screen Cinema have introduced us to film from all over the world. Clothes and fabrics of ethnic influence may be found in our indigenous retail outlets, markets and stalls throughout the city, on Grafton Street, in Temple Bar and the George’s Street Arcade. Temple Bar’s Music Centre is host to music and rhythm of many origins, from Rhythm & Blues to Salsa.
