Shanghai World Expo 2010

WEDNESDAY 10th February

Shanghai World Expo 2010 will be the biggest International event ever with 70 million visitors expected to attend between May and October 2010. Shanghai World Expo will host pavilions from 194 countries at a site of over 5km2 all exhibiting under the theme of “Better City, Better Life”.

The Ireland pavilion was designed by the Office of Public Works and will occupy a site of 3,000 sqm. The pavilion exhibit will be complemented by cultural and commercial programmes currently being prepared by the Expo team at the Department of the Taoiseach in consultation with the State promotional agencies. The Ireland China Association will present a business-focused briefing on business opportunities at the Shanghai World Expo 2010 in City Wall Space on Wednesday 10th February at 7pm sharp. Speakers will include The Commissioner General of the Irish National Pavilion, the Ireland China Association, and the Porterhouse Group.

The Porterhouse Group has won the world-wide unique privilege of being not only the only Irish company at Shanghai World Expo 2010, but also the only catering company that does not already have a presence in China to be invited to cater for visitors to the World Expo. At Shanghai World Expo 2010, Porterhouse will present the best of Irish cuisine together with the full range of traditionally brewed award winning Porterhouse craft beers in a magnificent contemporary Irish setting. The Porterhouse group will share their unique experience of China, their success in winning the contract and their plans for the Expo and beyond.
