In July 2010 the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra will tour China. Opening the Beijing Festival summer concert series at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, they will also tour the great concert halls of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hang Zhou, Suzhou, and Qingdao as well as performing at the 2010 “World Expo” in Shanghai. The DPO builds business and cultural links between Ireland and the world, bringing awareness of “Brand Ireland” and “Dublin” to an international audience.
DCNYF are delighted to collaborate with Shanghai University, University College Cork, The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and the
Chinese Chiu Chung Lung Ying Academy who will perform at various events in the 2010 festival. The Shanghai University Troupe will perform their programme Swan and Peacock in Dublin, University College Cork and NUI Maynooth. These artists will also perform at the official closing ceremony on Sunday 21st February in Kildare Village Retail Outlet from 1-4pm.
A special Chinese New Year’s/Valentine’s Day concert with these artists will take place in the Kevin Barry Room at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on Sunday 14th February at 7pm. Tickets are €10 each and numbers are strictly limited.
