Dublin Zoo
DCNYF are delighted to work with Dublin Zoo presenting the two new Tiger cubs Wyneta and Emas who have auspiciously arrived in time for DCNYF 2010.
Dublin Zoo, a long-established institution within our city boasts great Asian and specifically Chinese specimens of animals and plants. A huge educational resource, this natural link with the animal characters of Chinese astrology provides learning and new discoveries for all, especially families and children. With the Learning & Discovery centre and the various trails through the Zoo, this now annual link with the Zoo will focus especially on the Tiger this year and the two new Tiger cubs. Dublin Zoo will run a week-long programme of activities to celebrate Chinese New Year. Come along and enjoy the fun!

Chinese Art and Chinese and Irish fairytale sessions
Chinese culture often includes artistic representation of animals. Come along to our Learning and Discovery Centre and make some amazing art pieces such as big, bold and beautiful Dragons and magical Tiger Masks. Open to all visitors and no pre-booking required.

Follow the Asian Trail
Get ready to discover some interesting facts about the amazing striped cats; the Chinese Red Panda, the Asian elephant herd and many of the stunning birds. A self-guided trail will be available to all visitors throughout the week. (Visit www.dublinzoo.ie to download trail)

Lookout for the schedule of special Keeper talks on animals in the Zoo with particular Asian connection.
The Meerkat Restaurant will feature a special Chinese menu for the duration on the DCNYF 2010.
